Fat Monkey made with 10,000 pairs of flipflops - by florentijn Hofman

  • Dutch artistFlorentijn Hofman created this huge ape, called "Fat Monkey"for the city of sao paulo's pixel showin Brazil.
  • The giant inflatable is covered with more than 10,000 pairs of flip-flops,each shoe representing one pixel. 
  • Local students helped dress the creature in brazil's iconic footwear of choice.

  • A violinist fro the south China city of Guangzhou has made a violin measuring fewer than two centimeters(0.7 inches).
  • Chen Lianzhi used a 0.1 mm drill, maple wood as thin as a nail, and strings finer than a human hair to make the fiddly little fiddle.
  • The violin has over 30 components and it can produce a sound, but it is very high - pitched because the strings are so short.
