Million Dollar Homepage

In 2005, British Student Alex Tew came up with an ingenious way to pay for his college education.He built a website of one million pixels and sold off blocks at a dollar per pixel to advertising banners.The website was filled in just five months and included a banner advertising Jack Black's rock group Tenacious D and another for the London Times newspaper. The last 1000 pixels were auctioned in ebay for $38,100!
